The order of the MPU

The order of your medical-psychological assessment (MPU)

Firstly and most important: Come rested and on time at the arranged appointment. Thus stress is avoided from the start. For the whole assessment, you should reckon with about 3 to 5 hours.

Firstly, you'll be welcomed by our staff who clearly explain the procedure to you and who will be at your disposal during the whole assessment.

The next step is for you to complete a questionnaire on your personal data. This is not a personality or intelligence test, but simply questions about your previous driving licence or existing illnesses.

Once you have completed the questionnaire, you then see one of our physicians. During the medical examination and discussion, you have the opportunity to present comprehensively your state of health. A physical examination rounds off this discussion. Depending on the reason for the examination, laboratory tests for blood and urine will be carried out. Now you take a performance test, where reaction, concentration and attentiveness are checked. A top performance is not required, nor do you have to know how to use a PC.

And finally you have a detailed discussion with your psychologist about the actual reason for this assessment, about the reasons for your traffic offence and about any changes.

Here we take a lot of time for you to clarify all open questions and so that you are able to tell us everything that you think is of importance.

We want to make sure that we have understood you correctly. We therefore always make notes of the information from the examination discussion to be able to print the text, if requested - as it will be written later in the assessment report. You check this information in your own time. If there is anything missing or not expressed properly, feel free to talk about it with our expert and ask for it to be amended. Ask for details if there's something you didn't understand and our expert will explain it.

At the end of the assessment, you will be informed of your prospective assessment result, as far as we are able to judge. The report is usually completed and sent to you within 14 days after the examination.
